It adds two new stops to İZBAN, which is one of the important parts of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality transportation network and connects the two sides of the city. The Metropolitan Municipality, which started work in Konak Lale District between Şirinyer and Kemer stations and near Katip Çelebi University, aims to put the two new stations into service as soon as possible.

Continuing its efforts to provide comfortable, safe and fast transportation services to the people of Izmir, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality brings two new stations to İZBAN. In İZBAN, which serves on the north-south line of Izmir and has reached one million trips in 12 years, work has begun for the stations to be opened in the Lale District between Şirinyer and Kemer stations and in the Katip Çelebi University area in Çiğli. With the two stations to be built, the number of stops will increase from 41 to 43.

Construction started with a bored piling machine in the area located in Lale District. With the decision taken by UKOME, the road in the region was temporarily closed to traffic. Mobilization and drilling works have been completed in the Katip Çelebi region.

Uysal: “2024 is planned to end in November”

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Suburban Systems Branch Manager Gülay Uysal said, “Lale Mahallesi Station, which will be located between Kemer and Şirinyer stations, will serve Gürçeşme and Lale neighborhoods. Our second station is Katip Çelebi. A station that will serve the University and Balatçık area. These demands came from both our headmen and our citizens. It was decided to build it. "It is planned to be completed in November 2024," he said.
