In İZBAN, which serves on the north-south line of Izmir and has reached one million trips in 12 years, work has begun for the stations to be opened in the Lale District between Şirinyer and Kemer stations and in the Katip Çelebi University area in Çiğli. With the two stations to be built, the number of stops will increase from 41 to 43.

Construction started with a bored piling machine in the area located in Lale District. With the decision taken by UKOME, the road in the region was temporarily closed to traffic. Mobilization and drilling works have been completed in the Katip Çelebi region.
