Responding to the motion of HDP Diyarbakır Deputy Altan Tan, the Minister of Transport announced that the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Railway Project is planned to be completed and put into service at the end of 2018.

The information regarding the construction of high-speed rail works in Ankara-Sivas-Erzincan-Erzurum-Kars line is given below.
Ankara-Sivas High Speed Railway Project; 2018 is planned to be completed at the end of the year.
Sivas-Erzincan High Speed Railway Project;
* Sivas-Zara (Km 5 + 410-79 + 880) infrastructure pre-qualification tender has been made and evaluations are ongoing. It will be finalized in the first half of the year.
* Tender preparation works between Zara-İmranlı (Km79 + 880-121 + 000) are ongoing. Construction tender is planned for 2017 year.
* The project works between İmranlı and Erzincan are ongoing. In the year of 2017, the tender for the construction of the project will be completed.
Erzincan-Erzurum-Kars High Speed Railway Project; is included in the investment program as a study project.
Look, we are in May 2017 now. As far as I know, the road from Sivas to Malatya is electrified (I don't know if the YHT sets can go on these roads with a lower speed, but it will be great if they go) At the moment, the electrical line was opened from Sivas to Batman. Thus, perhaps it will be possible to reach not only Sivas but also from Istanbul to Batman directly.
