Konya Metropolitan Municipality completed and opened the 14,5-kilometer-long Abdülhamid Han Avenue, which it carried out in three stages.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they continue to open new streets and implement important regulations in order to ease the traffic in the city center.

Noting that the 14,5-kilometer-long Abdülhamid Han Avenue, which they brought to the city in this context, connects Beyşehir Ring Road and Beyhekim Avenue, Mayor Altay said, “After the first two stages we put into service before, we have completed the third stage and opened it to the service of our citizens. Thus, we have connected Meram Medical Faculty Hospital and Beyhekim Hospital, Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine and the stadium without interruption. Within the scope of the works, we also built a connection bridge over the Keçili Canal. Our Konya has gained a very important street connecting Seljuks and Meram. An important axis emerged that will give a breath of fresh air to the traffic density on Abdülhamid Han Street and Istanbul Road. We are happy to bring one of the longest streets of Konya to our city with its bicycle path, sidewalks, median and quality asphalt. I wish the best for our city.” he said.

President Altay added that Abdülhamid Han Street, which will add value to Konya, cost 269 million 500 thousand liras with all its stages including expropriation and infrastructure works.
