Chinese train manufacturer CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Limited has signed an agreement with Serbian transport authorities for the sale of 20 high-speed trains. This will be the first export of China's high-speed trains to Europe.

Under the agreement, CRRC Changchun will supply 20 EMU trains to Serbia. These trains can reach speeds of 200 kilometers per hour and will be used on the Hungary-Serbian railway line.

Wang Chengtao from CRRC Changchun stated that the trains in question comply with European standards and the requirements of the Hungary-Serbian railway project. Trains will offer a smart, environmentally friendly and comfortable travel experience.

The Hungary-Serbian railway project is expected to reduce the 8-hour travel time between Belgrade and Budapest to 3 hours. The project is planned to begin operations in 2025.

This agreement could help China's high-speed rail technology gain greater acceptance in Europe. China is the world's largest high-speed train producer and has the world's longest high-speed rail network.
