Istanbul Governorship Announces How Many Immigrants Have Been Deported

In the last 11 months, 148 thousand immigrants were prosecuted in Istanbul. 41 thousand 35 immigrants who entered the country illegally were deported.

The statement made by the Istanbul Governorship is as follows; “Our fight against illegal immigration in our province continues with the coordination and support of our Ministry of Interior, the cooperation and determined struggle of our relevant institutions.

Judicial and administrative proceedings are initiated immediately against illegal immigrants who are determined not to have entered our country legally by our security forces or who cannot present documents suitable for proving their residence.

Illegal immigrants who are handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management are deported after an examination of their situation.

Within the scope of combating illegal immigration in our province, a total of 01.01.2022 foreigners were processed between 04.11.2022 and 148.012.

41.035 illegal immigrants (Afghanistan: 21.824, Pakistan: 4.691, Other nationalities: 14.520) processed were deported directly to their countries from Istanbul Airport, and 100.626 foreigners were transferred to removal centers in other provinces under the coordination of the Directorate of Migration Management to take necessary actions.

In addition, after the signage inspections of the workplaces in our province, 7.962 signboards were brought into compliance with the legislation.

In these examinations made with the Police, Police, SGK and Migration Management personnel, workplaces; license, tax, social security and illegal immigration are also subject to inspection.
