Aiming to teach traffic rules to children in the capital city at an early age, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality renewed the "Kurtuluş Park Traffic Training Track", which has been closed for 2 years due to the pandemic, and brought it together with children.

The first training, held at the Traffic Training Track in Kurtuluş Park, started with a group of 20 kindergarten students from Hürriyet Primary School.

FIRST LESSON HORN STEAL FOR THE KIDS

In the trainings organized by the Signaling and Infrastructure Branch Directorate of the Department of Science; The rules to be followed when crossing the street, pedestrian crossing, school crossing, traffic lights, underpass, bicycle path usage rules, safety and car seat usage rules were explained both practically and practically on the track with battery powered cars.

Stressing that the trainings provide a permanent experience for children, Traffic Education Center Unit Manager Selda Kankan gave the following information:

“This year, we made all kinds of preparations for our children and reopened our track. We are ready to welcome our children from schools all over Ankara. Our first lesson started today. We give theoretical training to our students who come to the training, first in our classroom and then on our track with battery cars. This year, unlike previous years, we provide training to our students 2 times a day, 2 classes in the morning and 4 classes in the afternoon. We host an average of 4 students per year. Schools come to our track by appointment. We missed our children so much, they must have missed us too, because our appointments were filled in 2 days. Our goal here is to raise awareness about traffic in addition to what our children learned at school and to ensure that the knowledge they learn practically is more permanent.”

KIDS LEARN THROUGH FUN

The little ones in the 5-6 age group coming from Hürriyet Primary School expressed their thoughts on the traffic rules they learned while having fun with the following words:

Nature Turgan: “I learned how to use pedestrian crossings, overpasses and traffic rules. I learned the traffic rules more closely with the battery car.”

Esila Eren: “With this training, our teacher told us that we have to behave in the traffic. I had a fun time with battery powered cars.”

Miray Esen: “I learned a lot of good information today. I saw that the pedestrian overpass is very important. I want everyone to obey the traffic rules.”

Ceren Turkmen: “I learned to stop when the traffic lights are red and to cross when green. I learned a lot of information about traffic. I also had a good time with my friends.”
