Norwegian Railways to Procurement of Domestic Lines

Norwegian Railways to Tender for the Administration of Domestic Lines: The Norwegian Ministry of Communication and Transport announced on February 4 that the country has launched a new tender for the administration of parts of the railways. The tender for the administration of the Norwegian National Railways is made as a result of a new law introduced by the government last year.
The tender consists of two main parts. The first will be in Oslo in the southern part of the country and will be held for Drammen, Arendal, Egersund, and Stavanger. The second one will be for the 3 separate line in the northern part of the country. These lines are the Oslo-Lillehammer-Trandheim-Mo i Rana-Bodo line, the Trandheim-Hell-Storlien-Dambas line and the Trandheim-Raros-Hamar lines.
For the first part of the tender, the 2017 will be decided in August. The second part is planned to be finalized in December at 2017. After the decision for the two departments selected companies will begin operations in December 2018.
