In the construction of Narlıdere Metro, where the work has reached the level of 88 percent, an information trip was organized for the members of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality council. Mustafa Özuslu, Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, accompanied the members of the assembly. Özuslu said, “Our 600 working brothers are working hard at Narlıdere Metro. Things are running smoothly,” he said.

Members of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council went down to the construction site to see the latest situation on the 7,2 km long Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere metro line and to get information about the construction. Deputy Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Özuslu and Mayor of Gaziemir Halil Arda also participated in the review tour, Head of Rail System Department Mehmet Ergenekon gave information about the work done in the metro construction and the latest situation.

The delegation, which first made investigations at Çağdaş Station, went to Balçova Station by walking through the tunnel. Deputy Chairman Mustafa Özuslu said, “At the session of our parliament last month, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Hızal made a statement that 'manufacturing has stopped in Narlıdere Metro'. Our President Tunç Soyer instantaneously, he made a live connection with our friends who work in the night shift, and proved that this is not the case, and that the productions continue day and night with 600 people. Upon request, our President organized this trip. 600 of our working brothers are working hard in Narlıdere Metro. Things are running smoothly,” he said.

Ergenekon: "We are at 88 percent"

Mehmet Ergenekon, Head of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail System Department, gave information about the works. Stating that the rough works have been finished at the Çağdaş Station and they have started the finishing works, Ergenekon said that the work continues at the other 6 stations and they aim to complete them by the end of the year. Ergenekon said, “We are at 68 percent in rail manufacturing. We will complete the rail production by the end of summer. The tunnel was already finished. We are at 88 percent in terms of all productions. Our goal is to start trial flights in the first 3 months of next year. In the middle of 2023, we want to take the metro into operation and present it to our citizens. We will also start our car park productions at Balçova and Narlıdere District Governorship stations.”
