The Golden Horn-Black Sea Sahara Line comes alive: 1. RING ON ONE RAIL
The 55-kilometer long decoil line, which means a small-scale railway system, will consist of a single track. The line, which will go to the Black Sea from the SantralIstanbul campus of Bilgi University, which is located at the end of the Golden Horn, will be divided into 2 branches in Mithatpaşa by following the Kağıthane Creek and Cendere road. One of the branches will join Ayvadbendi and Yovankoru, and the other will unite on the Black Sea coast via Göktürk, Odayeri and Ağaçlı and form a ring.
ISTANBUL'S FIRST POWER PLANT WILL BE THE FIRST STOP
The starting point of the line, SantralIstanbul was the Silahtarağa Thermal Power Plant, the first power plant of Istanbul during the Ottoman period. The historical heritage, which was restored and transformed into the Bilgi University campus in 2007, first provided electricity to Istanbul trams and Dolmabahçe Palace, where the Ottoman sultan lived at that time. The power plant, officially opened in 1914, continued its operations until 1983.
14 STATION LINE WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH 3 METRO LINE
The line, which will include 14 stations, is planned to be built in Santralistanbul, with the Eminönü - Alibeyköy Tram line, which is under construction at Sadabad station. Kabataş - It will be integrated with Mahmutbey metro line, and with the planned Kağıthane - İTÜ Ayazağa metro line at TT Arena station. Accordingly, the stops planned to be built are as follows: Santral Istanbul, Kağıthane Municipality, Sadabad Square, Cendere, TT Arena, Hamidiye, Kemerburgaz, Mithatpaşa, Ayvadbendi, Yovankoru, Ağaçlı, Odayeri, Göktürk, Mithatpaşa.
