Work on the "Flamingo Road" project carried out by İzDoğa, one of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality companies, has been completed. With the project, the people of İzmir will have the opportunity to examine the bird species in the Gediz Delta, both by sea and by land. Tours with the most colorful boat and bus in the Gulf will start on May 10.

Preparations for the "Flamingo Road" project carried out by İzDoğa, one of the companies of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, have come to an end. Within the scope of the project, the people of Izmir will be able to visit the Gediz Delta, a candidate for the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List, both by sea and by land, and will have the opportunity to examine the bird species in the area. Tours with the most colorful boat and bus in the bay will start on May 10.

Boat tours average 90 minutes

KarşıyakaThe boat, which will depart from Mavişehir Fisherman's Shelter in , will proceed along the shores of the Gediz Delta and bird watching activities will be held. Guided bird watching tours by boat are planned to last an average of 90 minutes. Tours by bus from the land also start on the same date, on May 10. Guided bus tours will be held with a quota of 35 people. The tours, whose starting point is Sasalı Wildlife Park, will follow the route of Kaklıç and Degaj and return to Sasalı Wildlife Park.

From flamingo to cormorants…

With the project, it is aimed to draw attention to dozens of bird species that are the hosts of İzmir Bay, especially flamingos. Thanks to the tours, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about many birds, from flamingos to cormorants, from gulls to pelicans, and to observe them at the same time.
