Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said in a written statement; He reminded that Çamlıca Tower was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Expressing that he started to accept visitors as of June 1, 2021, Karaismailoğlu stated that the Tower has become the center of attention of all domestic and foreign tourists since the day it was put into service.
Noting that the tower attracted the attention of visitors despite the effects of the epidemic when it was opened, Karaismailoğlu said, “Since the day it was opened, the number of visitors we have hosted has reached 1 million 36 thousand 586. Visitors spent an average of 44 minutes in the tower. Watching Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, from the summit, from a 360-degree angle, leaves unforgettable traces in the memories of our visitors. As time goes on, the number of our visitors will increase even more,” he said.
BECOME A CENTER OF ATTRACTION
Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Çamlıca Tower also contributed to the economy and tourism of the city and became a center of attraction, and said:
Foreign tourists from various parts of the world also show great interest in the Camlica Tower, which is 369 meters in length and 587 meters above sea level and is the highest tower in Europe with this feature. In addition, while 100 radio channels broadcast without interrupting each other's power and frequencies, as the first and only in the world, 17 television channels can broadcast in high quality from a single transmitter. Çamlıca Tower has made a significant contribution to the silhouette of Istanbul with the removal of 33 old antennas that cause both visual and electromagnetic pollution.”
