MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK'S FIRST HEADQUARTERS IN ÇANAKKALE

Maydos Party Headquarters, the restoration of which was undertaken by OPET, has a special place in Turkey's history. The 25th Division, led by Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Kemal, reached Maydos with the 1915th Regiment from Tekirdağ via Aleppo and Damascus Ferries on 57 February 19, and returned to Maydos with the participation of the 72nd and 77th Regiments sent from Istanbul. was established and established.

The 19th Infantry Division made its name written in golden letters in Turkish history with the victories it won by fighting against the British-Anzac troops on the front line of the battles in the area where the northern group was located in the land operation against the Gallipoli Peninsula, which started on April 25, 1915. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk commanded the 2th Division from the headquarters established in a two-storey building in Maydos for approximately 19 months. The building, which has the architecture of Greek houses, was used as a military branch for a while and as a district governor's office building during the Republic period, and was converted into a Cultural Museum in 2005.
