A chain traffic accident involving 12 vehicles occurred due to snowfall and icing on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. The road, which was closed due to the accident, was reopened after approximately 3,5 hours.
The accident occurred on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge at around 22.30 yesterday. Allegedly, 12 vehicles with passenger bus, TIR, cars and trucks cruising from Ankara to Edirne headed together due to snow and icing.
Due to the accident, the 49 6417 truck in the 2 plate truck is stuck in the vehicle. On the notice instead of the accident, health and police teams were referred to the accident.
The injured, who were removed from the vehicle by the firefighters, were taken to Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that the injured people who were under treatment did not have a life-threatening risk. Bridge traffic stopped completely from the Anatolian Side to the European direction due to a chain accident; long vehicle queues occurred on the road.
A driver who is left in traffic, one driver said, “We have been in the traffic for about 1,5 hours. I am trying to go to Istinye. ”
A passenger who finds the municipality's work inadequate says, “We have been here for about an hour. We are waiting on the road. Now it is slowly opening. I hope we will go home safely. We see the works of the municipality inadequate now. ”
CLEANING WORK HELD
Vehicles involved in the accident with the help of the tractor was removed from the direction of the clock 02.00. After the clearance work on the bridge, the road was fully opened to traffic after 3,5 hours.
