Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas is on Russia's 'Wanted List'

Russian opposition site Mediazona published the list of wanted persons of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The list includes many foreign politicians, including Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.

The list includes many Ukrainian military leaders, as well as European politicians whom the Russian government suspects of crimes. The only prime minister on the list is Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. Thus, for the first time, Russia opened a judicial investigation against a sitting president of another country.

Although it is not clear why Kallas is wanted, it is linked to Estonian authorities dismantling and destroying Soviet monuments, according to Russian news agency Tass, citing an anonymous official source.

It was stated that Russian authorities also included Estonian State Minister Taimar Peterkop, Lithuanian Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys and members of the Latvian parliament Saeima on the wanted list.

In total there are more than 95.000 people on the wanted list. The list includes mostly Russian citizens.
