Sabancı Group Companies and Sabancı Foundation have opened 3 schools in Hatay so far, so that children and teachers can meet in the school environment and education can continue where it left off. Sabancı Foundation, which set out with the promise of "3 Schools in 3 Months for Hatay", completed Enerjisa Hatay Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, the construction of which started before the earthquake in Reyhanlı district, and opened it to education on April 23, 2023. Sabancı Foundation General Manager Nevgül Bilsel Safkan stated that they mobilized their resources to prevent education and training in the earthquake region from being disrupted and said, “We know that education is a priority area in the solution of social problems, and since the establishment of our Foundation, which is 50 years old,

We carry out our work within this scope. After the major earthquakes that shook our country deeply, our priorities were for students and teachers to be together in the school environment and to continue education activities safely. For this purpose, after overcoming the first shock of the earthquake, we set out with the promise of '3 Schools in 3 Months for Hatay' for uninterrupted education. Fortunately, we completed Enerjisa Hatay Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Sabancı Lassa Secondary School and Sabancı Arsuz Secondary School in a record time. Last year, while we were excited about the opening of our first school on a date that means a lot to us, April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, we are happy to introduce our fourth school to students and teachers in the past year. We established Enerjisa Atatürk Primary School with the donations of Enerjisa Enerji and its foreign shareholder E.ON. As an institution that has experienced the impact of collaboration, we will continue to join forces with different stakeholders and work with all our strength for quality education.” said.

Enerjisa Enerji CFO Dr. Philipp Ulbrich: “I am here today on behalf of the E.ON group and its 70.000 employees, which I am honored to represent. More than 1 million Euros were collected by our employees and our company in just a few days after the earthquake, and it was decided to build this school in Hassa. You can imagine how good it feels to see donations being turned into something that will actually help the people so affected here. Therefore, my presence here today expresses our determination, as both E.ON and Enerjisa, to improve the aftermath of the earthquake and to be in solidarity with the local people. Enerjisa Enerji and E.ON's collaboration in Turkey exemplifies a vital plan for sustainable economic prosperity, and the structure before us today stands as a testament to our joint efforts and the responsibilities we shoulder. Finally, he said, "Together with Sabancı and E.ON, I would like to reiterate our unwavering determination to play an important role in leaving a more prosperous world to future generations and in the flourishing of a sustainable future."

Enerjisa Distribution Companies General Manager Oğuzhan Özsürekci said, “6 of the 2023 provinces affected by the earthquakes that occurred on February 11, 5, especially Hatay, are in the responsibility area of Toroslar EDAŞ, one of our Enerjisa Distribution Companies. We are a company affected by the earthquake, with both the colleagues we lost and the network elements damaged. We have fought hard since the acute stages of the earthquake, healing our own wounds and bringing the electricity distribution infrastructure, which is our main business line, to the pre-earthquake network capacity with an investment of 1 billion lira as of the 1,9st anniversary of the earthquake. In this context, we continue our work at full speed. While we continue our work for quality and uninterrupted electricity distribution service, we also contribute to meeting the need for education, which is as important as the electrical infrastructure for the development of the region. After realizing the promise of '3 schools in 3 months in Hatay', we are proud and happy to open Enerjisa Atatürk Primary School, our 4th school in the region, with the donations of our shareholder E.ON. "While we continue to set an example for the electricity distribution sector for a better future, we also continue to meet the needs of the earthquake zone," he said.
