Yılmaz Özdil (born January 2, 1965, İzmir) is a Turkish journalist and writer.

Yılmaz Özdil, the son of an immigrant mother from Crete and a father from Aksaray, was born in 1965 in İzmir. His childhood and youth years passed in İzmir. After graduating from İzmir Atatürk High School, she graduated from Ege University Press and Broadcasting School, Department of Journalism. He started his career as a reporter for Yeni Asır newspaper. In 1994, he moved to Milliyet newspaper and became the Editor-in-Chief. In 1995, he moved to Sabah newspaper and became the Editor-in-Chief. In 1999, he took part in the founding of the Star newspaper, of which Fatih Çekirge was the editor-in-chief. After leaving Star newspaper, he returned to Sabah newspaper and assumed the duties of ATV news editor-in-chief. After the transfer of ATV and Sabah to the TMSF, he moved to Hürriyet newspaper. Özdil, who started to work as the editor-in-chief of the Star Main News bulletin presented by Uğur Dündar in 2008, wrote on the third page of Hürriyet. He resigned from his position at Hürriyet on August 15, 2014. From 10 October 2014 Sözcü He writes in the newspaper. He is married and has a daughter.
