Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, which serves throughout the country, is constantly improving itself in order to provide more effective and uninterrupted emergency service to citizens.

INTERVENTION TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Providing world-class service with its state-of-the-art vehicles, equipment and equipment, as well as its new service buildings, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade continues its in-service training activities to increase the quality of its personnel. In this context, it is aimed to respond more effectively to possible emergency situations thanks to in-service training for existing personnel.

DANGEROUS MATERIALS INTERVENTION TRAINING

Since Kocaeli is one of the most important regions of our country in terms of industry, the risk of industrial accidents increases accordingly. There are 2 Hazardous Materials Response Vehicles within the Metropolitan Fire Department against possible hazardous substance spills, leaks and leaks. These vehicles are deployed in Izmit and Gebze Fire Brigade Groups, and Dangerous Goods Intervention Training is given to the Fire Brigade Group and Detachment personnel established in each district, especially these groups. Trainings are given by Metropolitan Fire Brigade Prevention and Training Branch Directorate Training Unit (KOBİTEM) instructors. Within the scope of the implemented program, personnel are given on-site training by going to the fire brigade and platoon in each district with the Hazardous Materials Response Vehicle.

EDUCATIONAL SUBJECTS

In the training, Transportation and Coding of Dangerous Goods, Emergency Response Codes, Dangerous Goods Operations, Crime Scene Zoning, Gas Detection and Measurement Devices, Personal Protective Equipment, General Approaches to Incident Response, Sampling, Leak Stopping and Closure Equipment, Spill Collection and Containment, Decontamination. Theoretical and practical information was presented on various subjects, especially purification.

FIRE PERSONNEL TRAINING

In addition to the Dangerous Goods Response training, in-service Fire and Technical Rescue training continues at the same pace. Firefighters come to the training center periodically to refresh their knowledge and learn about new methods and approaches.
