Work has begun on the Western Ring Road in Samsun. The development was announced by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan. Mayor Doğan also emphasized that the Western Ring Road is very important in terms of easing the transportation burden of Samsun.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan met with Highways 7th Regional Director Serdar Ateş, Highways officials, contractor company representatives and municipal bureaucrats to evaluate the project details and the latest situation.
President Dogan announced: Work has officially started
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan announced that work has begun on the Western Ring Road, which is expected to greatly reduce the traffic load in Samsun city center.
President Doğan said, “We held our meeting regarding the Western Ring Road, the construction tender of which was held in June 2025. The project includes 2 tunnels, 7 different-level intersections, 1 at-grade intersection and 3 viaducts. For this project, I would like to express my gratitude to our President and Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Chairman of the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission, our MP Mr. Mehmet Muş, our MPs, our Governor, our Provincial Chairman, our General Director of Highways and everyone who contributed to the process.”
