General Information and Number of Staff
In accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 1 on the Presidency Organization, career diplomatic officers are those who contribute to the formation of Turkish foreign policy, undertake duties, authority and responsibility in its implementation and perform representation duties within the framework of the Ministry's duties. Exam Schedule and Application Process
The entrance exam The written phase will be held on August 17, 2025 in Ankara. A reasoning/analysis ability test and an oral exam will also be held for candidates who are successful in the written stage, and the place and date of this test and oral exam will be announced later.
Applications started on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 09:00 and will end on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 14:00. Candidates can submit their applications via e-Government. “Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Career Gate Public Recruitment” service or “Career Door” (https://isealimkariyerkapisi.cbiko.gov.tr) Applications will be made electronically via the internet address. Applications made by post or other means will not be accepted.
Application Conditions for the Exam
To apply for the exam, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- General conditions: To meet the general conditions listed in Article 657 of the Civil Servants Law No. 48 (it is mandatory to be a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye).
- Age limit: Not to be over 01.01.2025 years old as of the first day of January of the year in which the entrance exam was held (35) (those born on or after 01.01.1990 can apply).
- Education Status: Domestic universities or foreign universities, provided that their diploma equivalence is approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK);
- Faculties that provide at least four years of undergraduate education international relations, political science, public administration, economics, business, finance, labor economics and industrial relations, history, sociology, public relations and publicity, psychology departments and from other departments that have at least 80% of the courses in the curriculum of any of these departments, or from law faculties to graduate or
- Have at least a four-year undergraduate degree in social sciences or engineering faculties, postgraduate education in international relations, political science, public administration, law and economics have done
- Foreign Language Requirement: Candidates can apply for the entrance exam for the Professional Officer position from only one of the foreign language categories shown in Table-1. The foreign languages in which the exam will be held are: Minimum YDS/e-YDS scores in a foreign language to be taken into the exam from January 1, 2022 until the application deadline., the maximum number of positions that can be appointed and the number of candidates to be accepted for the written exam are given in the table in question. The scores obtained from the international foreign language exams determined by ÖSYM from January 1, 2022 until the application deadline will be evaluated in terms of the YDS equivalents determined by ÖSYM as of the exam period in which the result document for the said international foreign language exam was received. The said international foreign language exams are shown in Table-2.
Special Circumstances Regarding Foreign Language Requirement
For applications to be made in all categories and candidates who meet the undergraduate graduation requirement specified in subparagraph c) of article 1 of section II of the announcement at foreign universities abroad: Candidates who do not have a result document regarding the foreign language exams specified in Table-1, YDS/e-YDS or ÖSYM's equivalence document, can apply for the exam in the relevant category, provided that the diploma equivalence is approved by YÖK, if they graduated from faculties that provide education in the official language of the foreign country where the undergraduate education was received or in languages widely spoken in foreign countries that do not have an official language. These candidates are ranked after those who apply with YDS/e-YDS and equivalent exam results, and their rankings are made among themselves according to their undergraduate graduation grade point averages.
Candidates to be accepted to the written exam will be determined by ranking them according to their YDS/e-YDS or equivalent foreign language scores in a separate list for each category or by taking their undergraduate graduation grade point averages as basis within the framework of the issues listed above. Having the minimum language score or applying with a graduation grade point average in accordance with the specified conditions does not guarantee the right to participate in the exam.
