Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has launched sea public transport services between Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık on July 1st, Maritime and Cabotage Day. The services, which will continue throughout the summer season, will contribute economically and socially to the region.
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has added another important innovation to its sea public transportation service. In line with the transportation needs of the region, the Metropolitan Municipality has started sea transportation services between Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık on July 1st, Maritime and Cabotage Day.
45 Minute Road Cuts to 25 Minutes
The journey between Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık, which takes approximately 45 minutes by road, will be completed in 25 minutes by sea. Thanks to the new service of the Metropolitan Municipality, time will be saved and regional traffic will be relieved during the summer season.
The flights between Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık will be organized as three flights per day, seven days a week throughout the summer season. The flights will be carried out as Güllük departures at 3:09, 00:16, 00:22, Kıyıkışlacık departures at 00:09, 45:16, 45:22.
Alifer Bilgiç: “It Will Be Useful for Tradesmen”
Noting that the sea public transport services will contribute to the regional economy, local tradesman Alifer Bilgiç said, “These services are a very important service for Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık. Because citizens have a lot of difficulty coming from Kıyıkışlacık to Güllük. Thanks to the sea route, transportation time will be shortened. I think citizens will use these services intensively. Expressing that transportation would be more convenient by sea, Ayşin Özkaya said, “We are very happy that the Güllük-Kıyıkışlacık sea transportation service has started. It was very difficult to go back and forth by minibuses. It will be more convenient with sea transportation. The social life of the citizens will also become easier. Saniye Özcan: “It Will Be Both a Sea Pleasure and Easy Transportation”
Saying that time will be saved in daily life with the trips, Saniye Özcan said, “It was a service we have been waiting for a long time. We will save a lot of time. We used to reach Kıyıkışlacık in 45 minutes with our vehicles, now this will be reduced to 25 minutes with sea transportation. Our daily life will be easier. There will be both sea pleasure and easy transportation.”
Süleyman Özdemir: “Free transportation for people over 65, relatives of martyrs and veterans; discounted transportation for students”
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Director Süleyman Özdemir said, “In line with the importance given to sea tourism and transportation by our Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Ahmet Aras, we continue our work without slowing down. Upon the intense demand of our citizens, we started sea public transportation services between Güllük and Kıyıkışlacık. The travel time, which is 45 minutes by road, has decreased to 25 minutes by sea. While our citizens over the age of 65, relatives of martyrs and veterans will benefit from this service free of charge, our students will be able to travel at a discount. May it bring good luck to all our citizens.”
