The opening of this year's Gulf Trips, which Bursa Metropolitan Municipality launched last summer, was launched with a ceremony held at the Mudanya BUDO Pier. With the trips to be made by BURULAŞ between Mudanya-Tirilye, Mudanya-Gemlik, Gemlik-Kumla, citizens will have both a comfortable travel experience and a peaceful journey in touch with the sea. The sea transportation, which is carried out with a passenger ship with a capacity of 700 passengers and open and closed areas, will be carried out on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays every week on a timely and scheduled basis. Speaking at the ceremony that began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey said that the Gulf Services, which were launched last year for trial purposes, will be implemented this summer with certain hours. Stating that they aim to continue and use the gulf sea transportation without interruption with the sea connection with Istanbul, as well as the full use of these services by the people of Bursa and the increase in demand, Mayor Bozbey said, “Bursa is an important city with its mountains, plains, sea, culture, agriculture and various shades of green. We aim to provide comfortable and convenient transportation by strengthening the transportation systems between the mountains and the sea and adding new ones. A citizen or tourist who wants to go to Istanbul from Uludağ should be able to reach Mudanya and Istanbul in a short time. Similarly, guests coming from Istanbul should be able to easily reach the city center and Uludağ. Thus, we will narrow the distance between Istanbul-Uludağ and Istanbul-Bursa and shorten the travel time.”
Stating that they aim to bring more local and foreign tourists to Bursa with these steps, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey expressed that planning studies are also continuing in a sustainable manner. Stating that they attach importance to the participation of Bursa residents in the studies, Mayor Bozbey said, “I believe that Bursa residents will take ownership of the intra-bay sea transportation that has been desired for years. After the speeches, citizens boarded the ship and joined the first Gulf voyage of the season between Mudanya and Tirilye.
