
The Ministry of Trade has accelerated its efforts to prevent false, misleading or fake vehicle advertisements published on advertisement platforms that provide services in the electronic environment, to prevent advertisement pollution and unregistered gallery activities without authorization documents. In this context, the Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EİDS) established and the requirement of identity and authorization verification imposed on vehicle advertisements aim to create a fair and transparent market structure in the automotive sector.
Determined Fight Against Fake Advertisements with Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EİDS)
In order to prevent fake vehicle advertisements, speculative price increases and consumer grievances in the automotive sector, the Ministry of Commerce, With the amendment to the Regulation made on August 31, 2023, it introduced an obligation for identity and authorization verification to advertisement platforms. In order to fulfill these obligations, the Ministry Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EİDS) was established.
Thanks to the integration to EİDS, As of November 1, 2023, identity verification will be required for vehicle advertisements, and people who do not verify their identity information will be prevented from posting advertisements on advertisement platforms. This first step has been a significant success in reducing advertising pollution.
EIDS Authorization Verification Application Has Been Implemented to Cover All Vehicle Advertisements
The second stage of EİDS is authorization verification, As of April 7, 2025, it was implemented only for vehicle advertisements with model years 2023, 2024 and 2025. From this date onwards, authorisation verification became mandatory for advertisements of vehicles in the specified model years.
Today, As of June 16, 2025, EİDS authorization verification application has become mandatory for all vehicle advertisements. With this final stage, authorization verification will be required for all vehicle advertisements published on advertisement platforms.
So, With the EİDS authorization verification application, advertisements can only be placed by auto dealerships with authorization documents authorized by the vehicle owner or by the vehicle owner, the vehicle owner's first and second degree blood relatives and spouse. This aims to prevent unregistered gallery activities and manipulative advertisements by preventing unauthorized persons from posting advertisements.
The Ministry of Trade stated that it will continue its activities with determination to prevent speculative price formations and consumer grievances in the automotive market and to establish a fair, competitive and stable market structure in the sector. This new practice stands out as an important step that will increase security and transparency in second-hand vehicle purchases and sales.
