The City Library, which will be Türkiye's first Zero Carbon building and is being built by Konya Metropolitan Municipality on the site of the old municipality building, is rising rapidly.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay inspected the City Library construction site and received information about the latest status.
“WE ARE BUILDING ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LIBRARIES IN Türkiye”
Mayor Altay, who stated that the construction of the library they built for the youth in the most beautiful place of Konya is continuing rapidly, said, “This place served our city as the Konya Metropolitan Municipality service building for many years, but we had to demolish our building due to the earthquake risk. We are building one of the most beautiful libraries in Türkiye in order to open this area, which will actually cost billions of liras commercially, to the use of our youth. Hopefully, when it is completed, it will be one of the most beautiful structures in Türkiye. We are working very hard not only in terms of space but also in terms of digital technology. Hopefully, when it is completed, our city and country will have gained one of the libraries with the highest digital infrastructure that people of all age groups can benefit from.”
“WE ARE DOING EXEMPLARY WORK ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES”
“We plan to open a new door for our youth, to whom we will entrust our future, to build such works and build the Century of Turkey,” said Mayor Altay, “I would like to thank everyone who contributed. This building is also one of the first Zero Carbon buildings in Türkiye. We are doing exemplary work in environmental issues, especially with our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. In this sense, we are one of the pilot provinces in Türkiye. Our efforts to build the Konya City Library as the first Zero Carbon building in Türkiye continue. We are particularly careful to be respectful of the environment in all the work we do. Hopefully, our youth will use this building with great pleasure. May the Konya City Library be auspicious for our city.”
