Threat from Houthis to the US after Nuclear Facility Attacks

A leading official from the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen said he would hold US President Donald Trump responsible for American aircraft strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. “Trump must suffer the consequences,” the Houthi official said in a post on social media platform X.

US Presence in the Red Sea is a Target

Earlier, a statement from the Houthi-controlled Yemeni Armed Forces said the group was ready to target US Navy warships in the Red Sea "in case the American enemy launches an attack in support of Israel."

The Houthis began attacking ships in the Red Sea in November 2023, initially targeting vessels with links to Israel in response to the war in Gaza. But US warships in the area later became Houthi targets after they intervened to protect Red Sea shipping. The US responded with a series of airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen by spring of this year.
