
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality announced the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mamak Metro, one of the important projects that will strengthen the transportation network of the capital. The first digging for the long-awaited project will be done on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Groundbreaking Ceremony Details
According to the announcement on billboards in various parts of the city, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mamak Metro Akşemsettin District, Sultan Fatih Street on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10.30 will be arranged.
Another striking statement on the posters was, "We paid the 45 billion metro debt from the previous period, which corresponds to a 6 km metro line. We are laying the foundation of the Mamak Metro." This statement indicates that the financial obligations of the project have been fulfilled and the construction phase can now begin.
Information About the Project
Mamak Metro project, total 7,46 km long and will include eight new stations. These stations are:
- Abidinpasa
- Asik Veysel
- Tuzlucayir
- General Zeki Dogan
- Fahri Koruturk
- Genghis Khan
- Akşemsettin
- NATO Road
Of the project Completion in 2028 The Mamak Metro, once completed, will significantly facilitate transportation for residents and increase Ankara’s public transportation capacity by accelerating access to the city center. The project will also contribute to reducing traffic congestion in the region and providing environmental benefits.
