A long-standing expectation is finally coming true. The railway network that will connect Çorum to the capital Ankara and the pearl of the Black Sea, Samsun, with iron high speed train project, is taking its most concrete step. Delice-Sungurlu-Çorum Line: A Strategic Beginning
The foundation of which will be laid with the participation of Minister Karaismailoğlu Delice-Sungurlu-Çorum High Speed Train line, will be the first major step of the high-speed train investment, which was officially launched last month and has entered the actual construction phase. This 120-kilometer route constitutes the most strategic stage of the Ankara-Samsun line. The consortium formed by Yapı Merkezi and YSE Yapı undertook the contractorship of the project. The consortium officially started field work by opening the project office on April 15, 2025.
Details of the Giant Infrastructure Project
A comprehensive construction process will be carried out throughout Çorum for the high-speed train line. Many important infrastructure structures will be built within the scope of the project:
- 7 excavation tunnels
- 3 open-close tunnels
- 26 bridges and viaducts
- 12 overpasses and 72 underpasses
- 185 vents
The second reason to use the Sungurlu, Corum OSB and Corum city center to be 3 new stations will be built. This infrastructure investment aims to provide great momentum not only to passenger transportation but also to the economic development of the region. The high-speed train line will increase Çorum's logistics and commercial potential and make significant contributions to the regional economy.
Samsun-Ankara Line and Early Connection of Çorum
