The year-end exhibition of the Koç University Ebru Club meets art lovers at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum. The exhibition, which opened its doors on June 17, can be visited until June 30.
The exhibition features approximately 70 original marbling works shaped by Koç University students on the surface of water. Most of these works are prepared using traditional techniques, while modern interpretations applied to different surfaces such as canvas, fabric, notebook covers and fans also stand out. The works are a reflection of the productions created by students from different departments and classes of the university, working hard in workshops throughout the year.
The Ebru Club, founded in 2002 at Koç University, offers students the opportunity to learn and practice ebru, one of the traditional Turkish arts. The club enables both beginner and advanced students to explore this art in depth, both technically and aesthetically, through workshops conducted under the guidance of expert ebru artist Mehmet Eray Atay. Participants are given a certificate of achievement at the end of the term.
Known as the “dance of paint with water,” marbling comes to life by transferring patterns created with special paints sprinkled on the surface of water to different surfaces. This elegant art offers both visual and spiritual depth thanks to its process shaped by patience and mastery.
The exhibition brings together the aesthetic power and cultural richness of traditional marbling art with the original interpretations of young artists.
The exhibition can be visited between June 17-30.
