Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, just a few days before the start of the summer season, Bayraklı completed the cleaning and maintenance work on the beaches. The meticulous preparations carried out so that citizens can enjoy the sea on clean and healthy beaches were appreciated.
TONS OF GARBAGE CLEANED UP FROM BEACHES
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has prepared for the new sea season, which will open this weekend, with great effort. Teams affiliated with the Parks and Gardens Department have comprehensively cleaned the beaches that attracted great attention during the last Eid al-Adha. The teams, who carried out comprehensive cleaning activities especially in Kandıra, the center of summer tourism, as well as Bağırganlı, Kerpe, Kumcağız, Ömerağzı, Miço, Kefken, Cebeci, Kovanağzı, Babalı and Dikili beaches, were appreciated and admired by everyone. 110 tons of garbage were collected from the beaches before the new season. Thanks to this, the beaches were made spotless and sparkling.
PRE-SEASON MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORKS
In addition to the cleaning work carried out along the coast, the Metropolitan Municipality teams meticulously completed the maintenance and repair work on the beaches. With the warming of the weather, the beaches, which are being prepared for the opening of the sea season, have been overhauled in order to ensure that citizens have a safe and comfortable summer.

Vacationers coming from Kocaeli and the surrounding provinces to the beaches expressed their satisfaction with the work done before the new season. Citizens who enjoyed the sea on clean, well-maintained and organized beaches expressed their gratitude to the Metropolitan Municipality teams. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will continue its work to revive summer tourism and ensure that the public has a quality time.
OUR BLUE FLAG WAVING BEACHES
On the other hand, while Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality offers safe, clean and healthy swimming areas to citizens, the International Blue Flag Jury has given the “Blue Flag” award to 9 beaches in Kocaeli this year. Within the scope of the “2025 Blue Flag Awards”, a total of 9 beaches in Kocaeli were crowned with the “Blue Flag”, including Altınkemer Public Beach and Ereğli Kumyalı Public Beach in the Karamürsel district, as well as Cebeci, Kerpe, Bağırganlı, Kumcağız, Miço Kadın, Kovanağzı and Seyrek beaches in the Kandıra district.
