
In the "2025 World Universities Impact Ranking" announced by Times Higher Education at the "Global Sustainability Development Congress" held in Istanbul, Near East University was ranked as the 43rd most influential university in the world.
The “Global Sustainability Development Congress” organized by Times Higher Education, an international higher education ranking organization based in London, for the first time this year in cooperation with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) at the Istanbul Congress Center brought together more than 110 international representatives from 5 countries. The results of the “2025 World Universities Impact Ranking” were also announced at the congress, which brought together universities from many countries around the world, especially from Turkey and Cyprus, in Istanbul.
Times Higher Education has ranked 2,318 universities worldwide, according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Near East University, the 43rd most influential university in the world, was also among the world's top 5 most influential universities in four of the five main categories on the list when looked at specifically for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
a In the research evaluating its activities in line with its goals, Near East University achieved a significant success by ranking 43rd worldwide. Near East University achieved a remarkable rise by achieving 100 points out of 92.8. The fact that Near East University, which rose 250 places in the ranking compared to the previous year, exhibited this performance in a year when the number of universities evaluated increased by 355 increased the importance of this rise.
13th in the world in Quality Education!
Near East University has proven its global effectiveness in many areas, from education to health, from gender equality to sustainable cities, once again with the degrees it has received. Near East University, which is ranked 13th in the “Quality Education” category, was also shown as the 15th most effective university in the world in the “Sustainable Cities and Societies” category. Its place in the “Sustainable Cities and Societies” category, which ranks universities that lead regional, social and global progress with their pioneering work in the development of art and social heritage, is also a reflection of Near East University’s campus, which places culture and art at its center.
In the “2025 World University Impact Rankings” announced by Times Higher Education, Near East University also rose by a significant ten places in the “Partnerships for Goals” category, ranking 35th. Rising to 48th place in the “Health and Well-being” category, Near East University stands out with its research in the field of health and contributions to health services; while it ranked 57th in the “Gender Equality” category, demonstrating its sensitivity to gender equality and its determination in this area.
