In order to ensure peace and security in the area of responsibility of Balıkesir Provincial Gendarmerie Command, mounted gendarmerie patrols have started to work in Sarımsaklı and Badavut Beaches of Ayvalık district and in the surroundings of Şeytan Sofrası and forest areas. 6 mounted gendarmerie teams consisting of 3 personnel temporarily assigned from Nevşehir Suvariler Mounted Gendarmerie Unit Command will provide patrol service with horses named “Heybet”, “Manas” and “Yankı” until September 10, 2025.
The units, which are tasked with ensuring security in coastal and forest areas, maintaining public order and preventing crime, will be on duty visibly in areas where citizens are concentrated.
