
More than 15 million students applied for the central exam within the scope of the Transition to High School System (LGS) to be held by the Ministry of National Education on June 1.
The central exam to be held by the Ministry of National Education for the selection of students studying in the 8th grades of public and private middle schools and imam hatip middle schools to the science, social sciences, Anatolian imam hatip high schools and project schools, and Anatolian technical programs of vocational and technical Anatolian high schools will be held in 973 halls in 3 schools in 938 exam centers in Turkey, and in 62 halls in 693 schools in 13 exam centers abroad.
There is no obligation to participate in the exam for which a total of 1 million 10 thousand 916 students applied.
Students who do not take the exam will be directed to high schools through local placement.
The exam will be based on the achievements in the 8th grade curriculum and will include questions that will measure students' skills such as reading comprehension, interpretation, inference, problem solving, analysis, critical thinking and scientific process.
In the first session, which will start at 09.30 Turkish time, students will be given 50 minutes to answer 75 questions from Turkish, Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism, Religious Culture and Morality, and Foreign Language courses.
The second session will start at 11.30:40. In this session, students will be asked a total of 80 questions from mathematics and science courses and will be given XNUMX minutes.
During the 45-minute period between sessions, students will be able to go out to the school gardens and meet their needs.
The number of correct and incorrect answers for each subtest in the verbal and numerical areas will be determined. The raw score for each subtest for each student will be calculated by subtracting one-third of the number of incorrect answers from the number of correct answers for the relevant test.

Students will be required to bring a photo-certified exam entry document and a valid ID with them when they come to the exam. In addition, students will be required to have at least two dark black and soft pencils, a pencil sharpener and a soft eraser that does not leave stains.
As in previous years, this year too, students will be able to pick up their exam booklets from the schools where they took the exam the day after.
Local placement process
Local placement procedures for students who do not take the exam will be carried out in the secondary education registration areas established by the provincial and district national education directorates according to the type, quota and location of the schools, based on the criteria of the students' residence addresses, school success score superiority and the low number of days of unexcused absence from school.
In case of equality in the evaluation, placement will be made based on the superiority of the end-of-year success points in the 8th, 7th and 6th grades, respectively.
Results will be announced on 11 July

Preference procedures will be carried out between July 14-24. Placement results and vacant quotas will be announced on August 4.
The 1st and 2nd transfer preference applications and results, which will form the basis of placement, will be held between August 4-14.
