
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they have come to the end of the production of UAIS type military vehicle transport wagons. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Our wagons were produced with a 95% locality rate using completely domestic and national resources. They will carry the Altay Tank, Korkut, Samur, Kirpi, Riot Intervention Vehicle and Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they have come to the end of the production of UAIS type military vehicle transport wagons produced by the Turkish Rail System Vehicles Industry Joint Stock Company (TÜRASAŞ). Minister Uraloğlu announced that 2025 UAIS type wagons to be produced in the 2026-100 production program will take their place in the inventory of the Republic of Turkey State Railways Transportation Inc. and will serve the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and civilian transportation.
“Produced with 95% Local Content”
Minister Uraloğlu reminded that TÜRASAŞ started project studies in 2023 to be used in the railway transportation of tracked, rubber-tired and other special vehicles in the TSK inventory, which are difficult to transport on the road. Uraloğlu made the following statements in his statement:
“The wagons that will carry the armored vehicles of the Turkish Armed Forces were designed to have a deadweight of 22 tons, a length of 14,5 meters and a load carrying capacity of 68 tons. The UAIS type wagons, which can reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, were produced with a 95 percent local content rate using completely domestic and national resources.”
It Will Carry 104 of the 78 Vehicles in the TSK Inventory
Stating that it is possible to transport 104 of the 78 military vehicles in the TSK inventory with the UAIS type military vehicle transport wagon, Uraloğlu said, “Our wagons will carry the Altay Tank, Korkut, Samur, Kirpi, Anti-Riot Vehicle and Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles.”
Wagons to be Operated on European Railways
Uraloğlu stated that UAIS type wagons were designed to carry containers, which have become popular in civil transportation in recent years, in addition to the services required by the Land Forces Command, and said, “Wagons with a certificate within the scope of the European Interoperability Conditions (TSI Certificate) can also be operated on European railways.”
