“L'Etape”, the international format of the world's most prestigious cycling race, the Tour de France, will take place in Marmaris in 2026.
Many strong brands will accompany the L'Etape Türkiye cycling race, the amateur series of the Tour de France, which has been organized for 112 years with its yellow and black colors and is a world brand.
The delegation, which visited Marmaris Municipality as part of the preparations, included L'Etape by Tour de France Project Manager Mathieu Clanchin and 78 Event General Manager, as well as the organization's Turkey Director Ömer Kafkas, and was hosted by Marmaris Deputy Mayor Tunç Telli, Deputy Mayors Sedat Kirt and Pelin Yaylalı Pala, and Mayor's Advisor Didem Gamze Işıksal.
During the visit, the preparation process of both parties for the race was discussed in general terms, and it was stated that Marmaris would start work for this major organization as soon as possible.
Mathieu Clanchin, Project Manager of L'Etape by Tour de France, said, "We are very happy to be in Türkiye and Marmaris. Last year, for the first time, we managed to bring to life one of the most beautiful L'Etape organizations in the world, L'Etape Turkey by Tour de France, with the contributions of 78 Event. We are very excited to take this organization one step further and make it a cycling festival open to all amateurs, families, children, cycling enthusiasts and Tour de France fans. We will bring together racers from many countries of the world in Marmaris."
