Gölköy Uluvahta Yayla Pond Opens to Tourism

One of the ponds that Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler brought to Ordu both to take precautions against drought and to enable activities such as agriculture and animal husbandry, Gölköy Uluvahta Yayla pond is being opened to tourism. Uluvahta Yayla pond, whose appeal will increase with the works of the metropolitan municipality, will contribute to Ordu tourism.

With the works carried out by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration General Directorate under the leadership of Mayor Güler, ponds were put into practice in 6 years in district centers, especially in rural neighborhoods, for use in drinking water, animal husbandry, agriculture and tourism. The ponds, where falling snow and rain water are kept at their source, were built in a way that would not disrupt the natural structure and aesthetics.

ULUVAHTA YAYLA POND WILL CONTRIBUTE TO TOURISM

While Mayor Güler is working to increase water resources, he is also bringing new tourism destinations to Ordu. Working within this scope, the Metropolitan Municipality is bringing the pond built in Uluvahta plateau, which is affiliated to Gölköy district, to tourism. The Metropolitan Municipality teams have started arrangement works on the lake and its surroundings. With the completion of the pond, camellias will be installed in the afforested area by the Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Green Areas Department, where visitors to the plateau can have a better time.

The plateau, which will gain a modern appearance with its environmental arrangements, will bring a new breath to Ordu tourism with its unique nature.
