Fighting Flames All Around Izmir

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality fire crews fought intensively against fires that broke out in different parts of the city over the weekend. Teams that worked hard to control forest and grass fires in Selçuk and Foça in the morning hours are also on alert against fires that broke out in homes and workplaces in the city center. Teams that worked for hours to control a fire that broke out in a plastic warehouse in Bornova used 300 tons of water. All fires were brought under control.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams made a great effort to control the fires that broke out in different parts of the city. Selçuk and Çaybaşı fire department teams responded to the fire that started in the wooded area in Selçuk Pamucak in the morning hours. Izmir Forestry Regional Directorate teams also supported the work from the air with planes and helicopters. Aydın Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams also took part in the extinguishing efforts in the region and the fire was largely brought under control.

The grass fire that started in the morning hours in an area close to Foça Fatih Neighborhood also threatened the forest area in the region. The fire was brought under control with the rapid intervention of Yenifoça firefighters.

Crews worked for hours to put out a fire at a plastic warehouse

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams fought for hours to control a fire that broke out in a plastic warehouse on Bornova Doğanlar Hacılarkırı Street. Industrial, water tanker and ladder fire trucks from Bornova and the central group were dispatched to the fire, and 300 tons of water was used. The fire was brought under control after intensive intervention by the teams.
