Within the scope of the Turkey Century Education Model, the "end-of-term activity week" activities for all school types, where students highlight their talents in the last week of school, will be held with the theme of "Family and Play" due to the acceptance of 2025 as the "Year of Family".
The "end-of-term activity week" practice, which was implemented last year upon the instructions of National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin in order to encourage students to participate in artistic, cultural, sports and scientific activities in the last week before the end of the term in schools, will be held between June 16-19 throughout the country.
As the 2024-2025 academic year comes to an end, students will experience the week with the theme of "Family and Play" as 2025 is accepted as the "Year of Family".
In this context, students will participate in the activities with their families within the possibilities of the schools. The activities will be planned by a committee consisting of the school principal, a vice principal, relevant teachers and student club representatives.
The process will be completed by contributing to the variety of activities throughout the week, supported by national and international projects such as “The Richness of Our Language”, “Libraries, the Heart of School”, “Read-Comment, Write-Comment” and “Khwarizmi Education Model” coordinated by the Ministry. In this way, it is aimed to strengthen the family ties of the students, encourage learning through play, keep our national and spiritual values alive, develop school-family cooperation and enrich the education processes.
Students will have fun and experience the skill-based practices found in the new curriculum during activity weeks. Activity week activities aim to increase sharing between students, teachers and families while providing the opportunity to experience learning through fun.
Application guide sent to schools
On the other hand, in the implementation guide sent to schools regarding the end-of-term activity week, it was stated that institutions should continue the activities they had previously planned, and at the same time, they should plan the activities suggested in the guide in a way that would not impose a financial burden on parents in line with school facilities and environmental conditions.
In the guide, attention is drawn to ensuring the active participation of students in activities by making the necessary adaptations for students with special education needs in special education schools and other types of schools.
In the guide, which points out the aim of spending the last week of the second term of the academic year in an enthusiastic and productive way with the activities to be organized, it was requested that all activities carried out be recorded in the e-School Social Activity Module on time.
The guide also includes sample plans for organizing activities related to the activity week in schools. Schools will be able to organize the activities in the plans in cooperation with students, teachers and parents according to the day and time of participation.
