Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey stated that the 'Bursa International Sports Festival' held between April 2 and May 19 was organized with the participation of more than 100 thousand athletes and that they will organize the festival in a more comprehensive way in the coming years.
The ‘Bursa International Sports Festival’, organized for the first time this year under the leadership of Bursa Governorship and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, with the cooperation of Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, Provincial Directorate of National Education, Bursa City Council and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, was jam-packed with sports events organized all over the city between April 2 and May 19. More than 17 thousand participants, from schools to universities, from athletes from sister cities to individual participants, were reached with the events held in 17 districts and 100 different branches. The closing dinner program of the festival organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality was attended by Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey and his wife Seden Bozbey, Deputy Governor Rıza Gençoğlu, Mudanya University President Prof. Dr. Emin Karip, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Rahmi Aksoy, Bursa City Council President Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Aksoy, Provincial National Education Branch Manager Mehmet Zorlu, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club President Muhammet Aydın, Metropolitan Municipality administrators and teachers.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey thanked everyone who signed the organization organized with the participation of over 2 thousand athletes in 19 districts and 17 different branches between April 17 and May 100. Reminding that the festival, which also included athletes from 9 sister cities, also had an international dimension, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey said, “I would like to thank all institutions and individuals who contributed to the successful completion of the organization. This organization created an infrastructure that could be an example for Türkiye. The festival, which we will organize in a more comprehensive manner in the coming years, will be taken as an example by many municipalities. As a result, our youth will have acquired sports habits. Our children should be involved in at least one branch of sports and one branch of art. We see that young people involved in sports and art are successful and good people in every field. We also saw that the sports festival created a basis for these habits. We will continue to spread sports to every area of life.”
Deputy Governor Rıza Gençoğlu thanked those who contributed to the organization of the Bursa International Sports Festival.
Mudanya University President Prof. Dr. Emin Karip, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Rahmi Aksoy and Provincial National Education Branch Director Mehmet Zorlu stated that they were very happy to contribute to the Bursa International Sports Festival and thanked those who contributed.
Following the speeches, President Mustafa Bozbey and protocol members presented plaques to the institutions and individuals who contributed to the organization of the festival.
