The 186th anniversary of the Gendarmerie Organization is being celebrated with various events in Nevşehir. In this context, the Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) team made a parachute jump from a hot air balloon in the skies of Cappadocia.
“Gendarmerie” Wind in Cappadocia Skies
The JÖAK team, who rose from the town of Göreme to the unique sky of Cappadocia with a hot air balloon, performed a breathtaking jump. The parachutists, who soared through the sky with banners reading “The Gendarmerie is 186 years old” and “The Gendarmerie is an army of law”, the Turkish flag, and pictures of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, landed safely near the Kılıçlar Valley.
Within the scope of the celebration programs, a procession was also organized in Göreme with the participation of the mounted gendarmerie. A paragliding event was also held in the same town and the anniversary of the establishment of the Gendarmerie Organization was celebrated with enthusiasm. These special events once again revealed the Gendarmerie's capabilities in different areas and in close contact with the public.
