Ordu Metropolitan Municipality is taking an important step towards its vision of protecting the city's cultural heritage and transferring it to future generations. Restoration work continues at full speed at the historical Haznedaroğlu Mansion, which was allocated for 12 years with the protocol signed with Ordu University, to be used as a city museum.
Haznedaroğlu Mansion, located in the Bolaman Neighborhood of Fatsa district, within the urban and archaeological site and estimated to have been built in the 18th century on the ruins of Bolaman Castle, reflects the unique features of Turkish architecture. This historical building, which has a rectangular plan and two floors above ground, draws attention with its double bay window structure among the natural beauties of the Black Sea coast. The mansion, which also served as a restaurant for a period, will be transformed into a city museum that will exhibit the rich history and culture of Ordu after the completion of the restoration works.
Restoration Work Continues Meticulously
As part of the restoration work, the roof of the mansion was removed and detailed examinations were carried out. While the teams completed the wooden window and wall removal operations on the first floor of the mansion, which bears traces of Turkish architecture, they continue the wall removal work on the ground floor. The aim is to create a functional space with a modern museum approach while preserving the original structure of the mansion.
President Guler's Vision for Protecting Historical Heritage
Under the leadership of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Güler, important efforts are being made to revitalize the city’s historical texture. While the Selimiye Mansion in Altınordu and the Yürürler Mansion in Ünye have been restored and brought into the future in the past 6 years, restoration work continues at the Çamaş Cevat Bey Mansion. Now, with the support of the Ordu Governorship Investment Monitoring and Coordination Department (YİKOB), a meticulous restoration work is being carried out at the Haznedaroğlu Mansion. These efforts are of great importance in terms of preserving Ordu’s historical and cultural riches and passing them on to future generations.
