Bursa Metropolitan Municipality continues its work within the scope of 'Bursa Noise Action Plans', which it has implemented in order to increase the quality of life of city residents and to keep the environmental noise level under control. The Metropolitan Municipality, which is proceeding in line with the Noise Action Plan Report approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, aims to make Bursa a quieter city with inter-institutional cooperation and a meticulous follow-up mechanism.
Noise Action Plans Are Underway
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality acts with the vision of increasing the comfort of life of the public by reducing environmental noise. In this context, the progress of the Noise Action Plan Report prepared and approved by the Ministry is regularly monitored by the Environmental Control Branch Directorate of the Environmental Protection and Control Department. In light of the feedback received from the institutions, the action plan is evaluated every six months and necessary updates are made.
Technical Evaluation and Coordination Meetings
Within the framework of the 'Bursa Noise Action Plans', technical assessment and coordination meetings are organized by the Environmental Control Department. In these meetings, detailed information about the work carried out is provided to the representatives of the relevant units of the Metropolitan Municipality and other public institutions. In the meetings held with the participation of in-house units as well as district municipalities, police departments, district police units and other relevant institution officials, strategic noise maps containing detailed analyses of noise levels in different parts of the city are shared with the participants.
In the meetings, areas of intense noise that negatively affect the quality of life, especially in the summer months, are discussed. Joint efforts to be carried out in these areas, public health risks in the areas most affected by noise, and high noise levels near sensitive areas such as schools and hospitals are discussed in detail. The aim is to carry out an effective and coordinated fight against noise pollution with the cooperation of all relevant institutions.
President Bozbey's Environmental Sensitivity and Determination to Combat Noise
Emphasizing that Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey attaches great importance to finding solutions to environmental problems, Environmental Protection and Control Department Director Ali Alper Makam stated that the work continues uninterrupted in line with the Noise Action Plan Report. Noise is an invisible danger. Noise maps make this invisible visible.”
Emphasis on Inter-Agency Collaboration and Protection of Quiet Areas
