Melet Became a Living Space Rising from Its Ashes

The Melet River, which had been idle for years in Ordu and frequently came to the fore with the environmental pollution it caused, was reborn from its ashes with the determined vision of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler.

Melet's Fate Changed with President Güler's Determined Initiative

Taking action for Melet as soon as he took office in 2019, Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler pressed the button for a huge project that would completely change the fate of this region, which had been associated with garbage and unbearable bad smells for many years. Thanks to the meticulous and comprehensive work of the Metropolitan Municipality, Melet, which has been completely cleansed of the garbage piles and environmental pollution of the past, is now witnessing a miracle as it has become one of the most popular living and tourism centers of Ordu.

Became the Favorite of the People with the Completed Stages

The first two stages of the project, which was implemented around the Melet River and continues in three stages, have been successfully completed and put into service for the people of Ordu. Within the scope of the work carried out, this valuable area, which had been idle for years, has left its dark days behind with many arrangements ranging from modern walking paths to colorful children's playgrounds, from fitness areas that support healthy living to multi-purpose sports fields that allow for various sports activities. Although the project has not yet been completed with all its stages, Melet has already managed to take its place among the most preferred social facilities in Ordu. Melet, which is visited by dozens of people of Ordu every day, has gained great appreciation from the citizens and brought a new breath to the social life of the city.

3rd Stage Works Are Progressing Rapidly

Following the successful completion of the first two stages, intensive work is being carried out for the 50rd stage of the project in a large area of approximately 3 acres between the Black Sea Coastal Road and the Black Sea coast within the borders of the Durugöl Neighborhood of the Melet River. Within the scope of this stage, there will be walking paths where citizens can have fun, modern cafeterias, safe children's playgrounds, equipped fitness areas, multi-purpose sports fields, useful parking lots, a dry pool offering a visual feast, various meeting and activity areas, meticulously made landscaping arrangements, a mosque and a fountain to meet the need for worship. In addition, the 3rd Stage will add aesthetic value to the region by being enriched with modern urban furniture and a stylish lighting system. Melet, which used to be a source of shame for the city, has now ceased to be a garbage dump and has become a popular tourism area offering a peaceful environment intertwined with nature and where citizens can enjoy their time, providing a great gain for Ordu.
