The Paris-Istanbul tourist train of the Hungarian National Railway Company MAV, one of the world-famous tourist trains announced by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, completed a nostalgic journey by reaching Istanbul's historical Sirkeci Train Station yesterday.
The train, which set out from Paris and reached Türkiye by passing through various beauties of Europe, followed a pleasant route from the fascinating landscapes of Switzerland to the historical cities of Austria, from the natural riches of Slovenia and Croatia to the cultural texture of Serbia and Bulgaria. The train, which entered Türkiye from the Kapıkule border gate the previous night, welcomed its passengers at the Sirkeci Train Station, the heart of Istanbul, yesterday morning.
This special train, operated by TCDD Taşımacılık, will offer tourists coming to Istanbul the opportunity to discover the city's unique cultural and historical riches. Guests will collect unforgettable memories by visiting Istanbul's historical peninsula, unique mosques, palaces and lively bazaars.
The Istanbul adventure of the tourist train, which consists of 60 cars with a capacity of 14 passengers on its first trip this year, will be short-lived. The train will start its return journey again today. However, this will not be the only trip to Istanbul. The Paris-Istanbul tourist train of the Hungarian National Railway Company MAV will once again come to Istanbul's Sirkeci Station on May 29 and host a different group of tourists. These trips will contribute significantly to the revival of railway tourism and the increase in Istanbul's attractiveness in international tourism.
