Giresun Municipality continues to take important steps towards the goal of improving the public transportation infrastructure throughout the city and facilitating transportation for citizens. In this context, modern minibus waiting stops were installed in the areas where the need was determined as a result of detailed analyses conducted by the Municipality Police Department teams. These new stops were designed to allow passengers to wait for public transportation vehicles in a more comfortable and safe manner.
Need-Based Settlement and Safe Travel Opportunity
Municipality teams carried out a meticulous study in the selection of locations for the new minibus stops. The most suitable locations were determined by taking into account the routes that citizens use intensively, transfer points and waiting areas. These stops, which stand out with their modern designs, will protect passengers from adverse weather conditions such as sun, rain and wind. In addition, ground marking work was carried out and informative signs were installed in order to ensure that public transport vehicles approach regularly and that passenger drop-off and pick-up operations are carried out safely in the areas where the stops are located. Cost Advantage Achieved with Domestic Production
Another striking aspect of this important project of Giresun Municipality is that the production of new minibus waiting stops was carried out by the Municipality Machine Supply Maintenance and Repair Directorate. In this way, the dependency on external resources was reduced and significant cost savings were achieved. In the first stage, the production of three modern stops was completed and they were installed at the specified points. Municipality officials announced that this successful domestic production model will continue in the future and similar modern stops will be added to other needed points throughout the city. This approach both contributes to the municipality budget and encourages the efficient use of local resources.
