Cem Eroğlu, an athlete from the Black Sea Water Sports Club, organized a meaningful event as part of the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebrations. Swimming on behalf of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, Eroğlu completed a challenging swim between the uniquely beautiful Cape Jason of the Perşembe district and Hoynat Island.
Emphasis on Being an Example for Young People
Expressing his feelings and purpose before swimming, young athlete Cem Eroğlu said, “Today, we are holding this meaningful event on the occasion of May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Our aim is to set an example for the valuable youth of Ordu and to encourage them to do such water sports. I will swim on this course between Cape Jason, known for its perfect geography, and Hoynat Island. We want to create awareness to increase the participation of young people in Ordu in such activities.”

Eroğlu continued his speech by thanking Ordu Metropolitan Municipality for its great contributions to the realization of this meaningful event. “Ordu Metropolitan Municipality’s contribution to this event is truly great. 7 Kilometer Challenging Course Successfully Completed
Cem Eroğlu, who started from Cape Jason in the morning hours with his trainer, determinedly stroked the cool and wavy waters of the Black Sea. The young athlete managed to complete the approximately 7-kilometer, very difficult course in a short time of 2.5 hours, with great success. This performance revealed Eroğlu's fitness and determination.
The Crescent and Star Waved Proudly on Hoynat Island
Reaching the last point of the course, Hoynat Island, famous for its historical and natural beauties, Cem Eroğlu waved the Turkish Flag with great pride at the finish line to emphasize the meaning and importance of the day. This meaningful image both crowned Eroğlu's success and added a separate meaning to this special event that brought the excitement of May 19 to life at sea. This meaningful initiative of the Black Sea Water Sports Club, in addition to increasing the interest of young people in sports, also set an example in celebrating the excitement of national holidays with different and meaningful events.
