Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organized a special event for young scouts as part of the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebrations. At Olivelo Living Park The young people camped in the area for two days and were surrounded by nature, both having fun and learning about environmental awareness and scouting techniques.
Nature Themed Activities and Learning Opportunities
The event organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department, İZ–SÜR Children and Youth Recreation Association Scout and Nature Athletes Club (IZDOS)'s child and young scouts between the ages of 7-18 participated. Olivelo Living Park located in Güzelbahçe Yelki Neighborhood hosted a pleasant camp where young people met with nature.
Various activities were organized for the participants during the event. With nature walks, group games, scouting techniques and workshops aimed at developing environmental awareness, the young people were both physically active and gained new information. The staff of the Parks and Gardens Department provided the children with the opportunity to get to know nature by providing information about nature observation and ecosystems. In this way, the participants gained awareness of the environment they live in and enjoyed being integrated with nature.
This special camp, with its themes of love of nature, sharing, solidarity and responsibility, made significant contributions to the social and individual development of young people.
