Türkiye Prepares to Collaborate with China in 5G and Digital Technology

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, within the scope of his contacts with China He met with Huawei and ZTE executives. The potential for cooperation in digital infrastructure, technology and 5G was evaluated during the meetings. Minister Uraloğlu said, “We continue our work to position Türkiye as a center where advanced technology is produced and exported.”

Türkiye's 5G Roadmap and Domestic Production Strategies

Minister Uraloğlu met with Huawei and ZTE executives as part of his China contacts. During the meetings, comprehensive evaluations were made on Türkiye's 5G roadmap, digital infrastructure studies, smart transportation systems and domestic production strategies. Minister Uraloğlu said, "We evaluated our cooperation potential with both Huawei and ZTE on digital infrastructure, technology and 5G."

Discussions on Smart Transportation and Autonomous Driving with Huawei

Minister Uraloğlu, in his meeting with Huawei Vice President Bill Tang, Türkiye General Manager Kaya Shi and the accompanying delegation, said, Integration of 5G technologies with smart transportation systems took over. Minister Uraloğlu, who examined artificial intelligence-supported autonomous driving technologies during the visit, said, “When we put 5G into operation, we will accelerate the integration of advanced technologies, especially autonomous driving, into our daily lives.”

Domestic Production and 5G Vision

Minister Uraloğlu also met with ZTE officials during his visit to China. Türkiye's 5G infrastructure works were discussed during the meeting with ZTE Chairman Fang Rong, developing domestic production capacity and increasing technology collaborations topics were discussed. Uraloğlu said, “We continue our efforts to position Türkiye as a center where advanced technology is produced and exported.”
