Strategic Actor of China-Europe Railway Express: Türkiye
In his speech at the 9th Silk Road International Fair China-Europe Railway Express Global Partners Matchmaking Session, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the China-Europe Railway Express has made this ancient city a pioneer of modern logistics networks. Uraloğlu said, “With its strategic location that acts as a bridge between Asia and Europe, Türkiye is one of the most important connection points of the Belt Road Initiative in the modern world.”

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that Türkiye, a key part of the Middle Corridor, is an important transit point in China-Europe transportation with its strong infrastructure provided by land, rail and sea:
“I would like to remind you that, as Türkiye, we have made major investments in our logistics infrastructure in recent years. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line, Marmaray Tunnel We have completed the infrastructure required to provide uninterrupted transportation between Asia and Europe with our mega projects such as. These investments enable the cargo from Xi'an to Türkiye and from there to Europe to be transported more efficiently and quickly.”
Minister Uraloğlu also said that it is necessary to focus on improving bottlenecks to make the transport lines from Xi'an to Türkiye and from there to Europe regular and reliable in order to make transportation more efficient.
Emphasis on Digitalization and International Cooperation in Customs Procedures
Emphasizing that digitalization and acceleration of customs procedures should be an important agenda item, Uraloğlu said, “We should eliminate time losses during customs procedures by strengthening data sharing with modern technologies. As Turkey, we are determined to transform our transit position on this route into a shareable gain not only for ourselves but for all countries in the region.”
In this context, Uraloğlu shared his belief that a continuous dialogue should be established at the institutional level for effective cooperation in the field of logistics and transportation, and concluded his words as follows:
“Turkey is ready to make joint investments and public-private partnerships to encourage long-term partnerships between the logistics sector and railway companies. We are all aware that the success of the transportation sector depends on the route countries facilitating trade, cooperating in the customs area, keeping customs and transportation tariffs at reasonable levels, removing non-tariff barriers and encouraging investments. I sincerely believe that our common vision and mutual trust will further strengthen the ties between our countries. This meeting offers a great opportunity to contribute not only to the future of logistics and trade, but also to the construction of a common path of prosperity for humanity.”
