Ordu Metropolitan Municipality continues its junction arrangement works, which it has initiated to improve the traffic flow within the city. The arrangement work, which was recently implemented in Kayabaşı Neighborhood of Altınordu district, aims to provide significant relief in international and intercity transportation.
15 Intersections Renewed Under the Leadership of Mayor Güler
Under the leadership of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, arrangement work has been carried out in 6 intersections throughout the province in the last 15 years. These works aimed to make urban traffic more fluid and to increase the transportation comfort of citizens.
Traffic Load Will Decrease at Kayabaşı Junction
A comprehensive regulation study was initiated under the coordination of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Technical Affairs Department and Transportation Department at Kayabaşı Junction, where traffic density has increased due to ongoing renovation works on Melet Bridge in Altınordu district. Insufficient road widths at the bridge exit were endangering life and property safety on this route, which is also used by heavy vehicles engaged in international and intercity transportation. The studies carried out aim to prevent these problems and ensure a healthy traffic flow.
New Transportation Routes to Many Neighborhoods
The arrangement works to be carried out at Kayabaşı Junction will not only ease the current traffic flow, but also create a new route for vehicles that cause traffic flow disruptions and security risks by making a U-turn from the Organized Industrial Zone. Thanks to this new arrangement, safer and smoother transportation will be provided for vehicles going to Kayabaşı, Yukarıtepe, Akçatepe, Topluca, Zafer, Gökömer, Alınca, Alisayvan, Hürriyet, Erenli, Cumhuriyet, Gerce, Aydınlık and Pelitli neighborhoods.
15 Intersections Modernized in Ordu
Since 2019, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has rearranged a total of 14 intersections in accordance with the needs of the day, including the Municipality Intersection, Sivas Intersection, Rus Pazari Intersection, Mevlana Intersection, Dörtyol Intersection, Fındık Intersection (Pool Intersection), Okullar Caddesi Intersection, Atasanayi Intersection, Fidangör Intersection, Yeni Otogar Intersection, Organized Industrial Intersection in Altınordu district; and the Industrial Intersection, Yunus Emre Intersection, and TOKİ Intersection in Ünye district. Finally, this number increased to 15 with the Kuğukent Intersection in Altınordu district. With these works, Ordu's transportation infrastructure is being made more modern and useful.
