Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to undertake important awareness activities for children with the aim of raising conscious individuals of the future. Mother City Centers within the Women and Family Services Department hosted special, educational and entertaining activities for preschool kindergarten students within the scope of “Traffic and First Aid Week”. These activities aimed to help the little ones learn traffic rules at an early age and gain safe behavioral habits.
Special Educational Activities for Traffic Week in Mother City Centers
One of the important social projects of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Mother City Centers, implemented a special program to increase traffic awareness of young students during the “Traffic and First Aid Week”. In the activities carried out with the help of expert trainers, traffic rules, pedestrian safety and the meanings of traffic signs were explained to preschool kindergarten students in fun and memorable ways. Thanks to educational materials and interactive games prepared according to the age levels of children, learning traffic rules turned into an enjoyable adventure for them.
Learning with Games, Reinforcement with Practice
As part of the activities, young students learned basic information such as recognizing traffic signs, determining safe crossing points and the rules that pedestrians must follow through various games. This learning process, supported by traffic-themed songs, coloring activities and educational films, attracted the children's attention and made the information more permanent. In addition, with practical activities where simple traffic scenarios were animated, the little ones had the opportunity to put their theoretical learning into practice and gained important experiences on how to behave in a traffic environment. This interactive approach supported children to understand and internalize traffic rules instead of just memorizing them.
Little Ones Took Practical Lessons at Traffic Education Park
The most striking part of the Traffic Week activities was the educational trip that the students took to the modern Traffic Education Park of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. Here, the children, who encountered a miniature example of a real traffic environment, received practical traffic training with expert trainers. The little ones, who learned how to use pedestrian crossings correctly, the meanings of traffic lights and basic traffic rules by experiencing them firsthand, had the opportunity to concretize their theoretical knowledge. Thanks to the pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, bicycle paths and other traffic elements in the park, they reinforced their safe behavior habits in a fun environment. At the end of the training, participation certificates were presented to all students who participated in this important awareness study, emphasizing the importance of the information they learned and the interest they showed. These certificates became a symbol of the first important step the little ones took on their traffic awareness journey.
