Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar, in a friendly program where he met with young people at the Ofis Art Center, made important statements about the city's transportation future. Mayor Alemdar emphasized that Sakarya is the municipality that offers the most affordable transportation in Türkiye and shared with young people the projects implemented and planned to increase transportation diversity.
“The Most Affordable Transportation is in Sakarya”
Mayor Yusuf Alemdar underlined that Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality offers the most economical transportation opportunities for young people and all citizens throughout Turkey. Mentioning the addition of 23 new environmentally friendly buses to the fleet that were put into practice in the previous period, the resumption of ADARAY services and future metrobus and rail system projects, Mayor Alemdar stated that they are making great efforts to extend uninterrupted transportation to the city center.
“The City’s Transportation is Always on Our Table”
Emphasizing their determination in transportation by saying, “Our concern is to provide the fastest, most reliable, most comfortable and cheapest travel to our fellow citizens,” President Alemdar listed the steps they took to achieve this goal as follows: “First, we introduced a free transportation tariff for primary and secondary schools and a 54 percent discount for high school and university students. Then, we added 23 new environmentally friendly buses to our fleet. We see transportation not only as going from one place to another, but as a service that increases the quality of life. At the same time, we are the institution that provides the most affordable transportation in Türkiye with our municipal buses. We not only provide our people with the right to cheap travel, but also take important steps to diversify transportation.”
“We are Launching Great and Safe Transportation Alternatives: Metrobus Will Be in Service by the End of the Year”
President Alemdar also shared the good news that will strengthen Sakarya’s transportation network with the youth. President Alemdar said, “We are currently working intensively to start transportation to our city with metrobus. We want to put metrobuses into service for transportation from the Yenikent region to the city center by the end of the year,” and he stated that with the metrobus line being put into service, buses operating in that region will also be evaluated on alternative routes. President Alemdar also announced an important development regarding the rail system project, saying, “Our ministry has also completed the project tender for the rail system line. We are also taking steps to implement new dual carriageways.” These statements signaled that Sakarya’s transportation infrastructure will be much more modern and diverse in the future.
At the end of the meeting, President Alemdar sincerely answered all the questions the youth had about transportation and took notes of their requests one by one, once again demonstrating the importance they attach to the ideas and needs of the youth.66666666+
